in school i lived with my great aunt in her house in berkeley. it's the same place with the garage where i left all my paintings after school. i think i would enjoy it a bit more now that i'm older, but also it felt like i was disturbing someones space they had curated over the years. i remember trying to use my room as a studio but giving up and carving woodblocks on the floor because it was the only blank space that i could sort of make my own.
i really loved the balcony from my room. makes me think that every room should have a balcony. it was covered in wisteria and the wind + morning light would make these intense shadows across the walls. i came across a old video i took from the bathroom. its long and boring but it shows the light + shadows
